Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Seekers and Planners groups.
